Столицу республики, город Ижевск, еще со времен войны с Наполеоном величают кузницей оружия. А более полувека назад Михаил Калашников придумал здесь уникальный автомат, который стал символом российского оружия во всем мире.
С Удмуртской землей связана еще одна мировая знаменитость: в Воткинске родился автор балета «Лебединое озеро» – великий русский композитор Петр Чайковский.
